Our Co-founder always poises the question, “What is the most important step a person can take?” And answers it with, “Always the next.”In 2015 Yumna was registered as a Biomedical Engineering student at Wits which aligned with her goal and peaked her interest for developing life changing solutions for people in need. This experience taught her how to work under extreme pressure - but would not ultimately lead to making a visible impact in peoples lives.
In her time away from engineering, with the help from our CFO, they were able to achieve a lifelong dream and started Project O with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty through the development of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. “As long as poverty, injustice and gross inequality exist in our world, none of us can truly rest.”
She then took the next step, enrolling in the first recognised Prosthetics and Orthotics degree in South Africa at Tshwane University of Technology in 2020 where she hopes to give others the opportunity to always take the next step.

Our Co-Founder, born in a small town called Delareyville, is a Triple Major, Bachelor of Commerce graduate from The University of the Witwatersrand in Corporate Finance, Human Resources and Marketing. He holds an honours degree in marketing through The University of South Africa.
During his time away from home in Johannesburg, Faraaz and Yumna founded Project O and according to the CFO, will remain his most proud and humbling accolade.
At the age of 24, he is the CEO and owner of an events and marketing company called FATMediaZA which he started in 2020.
Our Director is also currently employed as a Marketing Coordinator in Cape Town for the Clicks Group.
Faraaz tries to live by the words of the great philosopher, Mowlana Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

The 23 year old Chief Administrative Officer completed a Bachelor of Education in the foundation phase at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is currently teaching at a primary school in central Johannesburg.
Tasneem was the initial Head of Tutoring in 2019 and earned her self an executive management role by showing a great work ethic and leaps of dedication to the organisation.
A quote that is part of Tasneem’s ethos is: “How do we change the world?

Humairaa’ is a third year BA student at Wits, majoring in Psychology & English. She is a 21 year old who always had an unfulfilled passion for philanthropy until Project O surfaced. She started off as a tutor and volunteer and now heads the Project Committee.

Yusuf is part of the
Freeway Group and has recently taken upon the position as Dealer Principal at
Kia Goldreef. Currently 19 years old with a passion in the motor industry has
taken on the position as Head of Fundraising at Project O where he feels he would
like to make a difference to help others and give back. He’s been involved with
Benoni Muslim Charity Organization from a very young age as well as heading
several charity drives in High School at St David’s’ Marist Inanda.
“A man’s
true wealth is the good he does in this world.” Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) - a
quote which Yusuf lives by as charity is such an important act in Islam and
living your life.

Muhammed Yaseen is a 21 year old, first year, Education student at the University of Johannesburg. Muhammed Yaseen wishes to become an English teacher in the Further Education and Training phase. He has been part of Project O since its inception as a volunteer and history tutor, he now finds himself heading the Extra Murals portfolio.
It is rather apt that the quote which most inspires him is one from The Great, Malcolm X, “Tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”.
